Unable to read ProRes 4.4.4 file

I'm unable to read a file with this spec in any Adobe product, including on a Mac:

It plays in VLC Media Player. It also plays in QuickTime on the Mac. Adobe won't open.

WORKAROUND
I'm transcoding to HEVC on our old Mac Mini and it's taking about 2 hours.
