Voice Over in PP beta and 2020

Hi,

I'm thinking it may be relevant to my system -- as 2 different mic setups (1 via usb directly, the other thru a focusrite) have me recording no audio through the voiceover tool in PremierePro 2020 and it's beta version too.  I've checked Premiere's and my mac's audio preferences and everything seems to be in order.

Anyone else having difficulty with VOs in latest Premiere releases?
