About exporting materials - Ver 2.1.4 (Steam ver)

Hello, Stagerest.

Let me ask you a question about my favorite Stager.
In the File menu, under Export, there is an item called "Selected Materials".

I believe this menu item outputs a texture image of the selected object or the material selected in the material palette,
along with the settings under the specified folder.

However, for some reason, it does not output correctly.
Sometimes only one, sometimes only 20, are output, even though they are in the same project file.
And unfortunately, not all materials are output.

Perhaps it is a bug,
I have a feeling there might be a workaround technique for this problem.

If you have any ideas, please advise.
Thanks for reading.

I am able to export all materials for selected object from my scene. (MDL+PNG images). Can't reproduce your bug. Can you share your project file for testing?  Or how many materials contain your objects in total?

Hi Ares-san

Thanks for your reply

I have uploaded the file and will send you the URL.

When materials were exported with this project file,

the result was only one carpet folder output.

Thanks for reading.

All textures are included in that Carpet folder. A single MDL files code includes info about all your materials and used all textures for creating materials. You can load MDl file in any app to get all materials on your object.

Certainly! Let’s explore MDL materials and where you can find them:

  1. MDL Language in Omniverse:

    • The MDL language in Omniverse is used for creating and describing physically-based materials.
    • It provides a flexible and powerful way to define material properties, such as appearance, texture mapping, and light interaction.
    • With MDL, users can create complex materials with realistic details, including effects like reflections, refractions, and surface patterns.
    • These materials can be applied to 3D objects and used in rendering scenes to achieve high-quality visual results.
    • In Omniverse USD Composer, artists and designers can create and manipulate materials in a visually intuitive manner. Additionally, they have the flexibility to fine-tune material properties through code-based scripting if desired1.
