Question

Animation rendering progress bar

I was wonedring if it was a feature or a bug:
When I render a fixed scene, I get an estimate (acknoledging that it's just that: an estimate), but if I render a simple spin of an object/group, I just get the elapsed time in the progress bar. (and no time left or even the blue bar)

not the end of the world but since it's supposed to take a long time, I'd raher know if I can start something else instead of watching the computer running 🙂

Never mind, it works, it's just very long.

My animation is only 10 sec, 1080 x1080, resolution: full, preset: medium (128 samples)
It's estimating at 16 hours (still no clear estimate, but just multiplying the time taken by each frame to render)

My computer is admitedly not the powerhouse I would like it to be, but well-within the acceptable specs:

Nvidia RTX2070 (8GB Vram), 64 GB RAM,

It was just for a test, I don't think I will ever do any animation at this rate 🙂

Hello @Imaginerie,

You're right, the current rendering time can be quiet long depending on the scene. This is not uncommon for a rendering software, but the animation feature is still young and has room for improvement for sure. Have you already tried to render since the 2.1.0? Some of the changes should help rendering faster.

Best regards,

Thanks for your answer. My screenshots are from the latest versions, where I was able to try exporting in .mp4 (a definitive improvement)
I tried before but was relatively new to the app and thought I was doing something wrong (again very long)
I find Stager, very, very, power hungry (compared to - say - Blender and definitely Dimension), and sometimes I am just fed up hearing the fans 😁, I tried to optimise my system as best as I could, but there is only so much I can do. Maybe the minimum configuration should be revised to eliminate the weaker ones, as they're clearly not up to the task.
