Confusing visibility symbol

As opposed to Photoshop the layer visibility toggle is intensely confusing to me. The eye icon here marks that the layer is INvisible and the absense of the symbol marks that the layer is visible. I have to slow down and think hard when I toggle the layers on and off, what's the point?

I wonder what version of Stager you are using, in the latest version, it works like Photoshop. If you hover your mouse over a layer the icons will appear and show you the *current* state, ( on or off ) if you then click on the eye icon, you can turn it off , or back on exactly like Photoshop. ( The only thing that differs is that the icons are not visable when the mouse is not in the area where the layer icons are located - and THIS should/could be changed, as it doesn't take up any extra real estage on the program window.

By brain is telling me bright=on and dark=off. It's like driving a car, when you see the red light you don't have to analyze what it means, your body knows. I get that whoever designed the interface probably did this in white mode, not dark mode, and made this decision with regards to simplicity. For me it's not working, toggling 15-20 layers on and off I have to speak loudly to myself "bright is off, dark is on".
