Question

Render blocked to 50%

Hi ! I want to create draft or medium quality renderings but I only got it once. Since 3 days impossible to return an image because it is blocked at 50%, the timer increases, increases and never stops. I just place two lights, check and replace heavy materials, lower the settings for rendering but nothing changes. I don't know what's different with my first and only successful render (I'm just adding a little decal). Thank you !

I had the same problem, but it seems to work if you que the renders:

  • Bookmark a few render views (ctrl + shft + B)
  • Under Render settings check the views you want to render
  • Make sure " current view" is not checked. See image below:

Dear Rossn, Thanks for your tip about checking all camera views in the render Export settings. I tested this with denoise on and denoise off and it worked both times and just rendered with no added time! You nailed it. I have an MAC Studio M2 Ultra 64gb, 24 core, but this does not matter when running Stager due to the incompatability. Unfortunately when I got my new MAC, I was expecting supreme performance with Stager, but had no idea Stager was not built for silicon. Looking forward (very much), to a proper release from Adobe with everything squared away for us MAC users. And hopefully it will be all MACs and not everything except the M2 Ultra....

Hi! I had the same problem.

Deselecting "Reduce Noise in Rendering" in the Preferences worked for me!

Hi Chauvin!

The "timer" is a bit of a lie, it's doing rendering until 50% and then it does denoising.  So it seems like the app is getting stuck on the denoiser process for you for some reason.  To validate, can you please open the render settings and disable "denoise on export" option?  If that works, it would confirm the denoiser is causing the issue.

Denoise is only available on CPU rendering.  So if you're having this on GPU rendering, that would be a different issue.

Regardless of what you find above, can you please open Stager, try to do a render, and then after it gets stuck please grab your Stager.log file.  The log file will let the team find more information so we can resolve the bug!

Mac : ~/Library/Logs/Adobe/

Win: ~\username\appdata\local\Adobe\Stager

Please email the log to Substance3D-bugs@adobe.com and we can take a look at what's going on.  We dont' recommend sharing logs on the forums since it can include information about your device, path names, etc, you may want to keep private.  So we know what issue this is in relation to, please include a link to this forum thread in your email.

Cheers!
