Question

Rendered image looks blurry

Hello dear Community,

I’m experiencing an issue with image sharpness when rendering in Adobe Stager.
The scene looks clean and perfectly sharp in the Design/Viewport preview, but when I render the final image, the result appears blurry, the details look softened, and the overall clarity is lost.

I’m not sure what might be causing this, and I may have clicked something by accident since I’m still new to the program. I’m attaching screenshots of my scene and render settings so it’s easier to understand the issue.

If anyone has advice on what could be causing the blurry final render or which settings I should check, I would be very grateful.

Thank you!

Hi Ann!  It's difficult to tell from the screenshots - if you can share your file I'm happy to take a look.  At minimum if you can take a screneshot of your render settings in design mode (available at the top of the interface).

Some common issues:

  • Different active renderers:  If you're using real time rendering in design mode and ray trace rendering in export mode, then you are using different rendering engines.  These engines have different purposes and different styles.  If you intend to export in ray tracing, be sure to enable ray tracing in design mode too so you can use the same engine to preview your work.
  • Denoising:  Final renders have a pass of denoising on by default which reduces noise and grain, but often can introduce some blurring.  You can test if this is what's affecting the render by disabling denoising in the render settings.
  • Sample Settings:  When using ray tracing try setting a higher sample setting.  Samples increases the quality by letting more light rays interact per-pixel to get the final image, but also will increase render time.

Thank you so much for reply and explain everything so clearly!
It’s definitely possible that I accidentally changed some settings without realizing it, because I am still learning.

As you suggested, I’m sharing my project file here so you can take a closer look.
I would really appreciate it if you could take a look and let me know what I might be doing wrong.
Thank you again!
