Stager freezes completely when turning on ray tracing

Everytime I go to click on ray tracing to preview my scene the whole app freezes, it won't even let me close the app. I have this exact same issue trying to render anything. If I go to cancel the render and go back my entire scene is grey.

Everything is updated I can't figure out why this is happening.
