stager issues: first unable to open a project. now will not open period

iMac 5k 27" 10-core i9, 128 DDR4, MacOS Big Sur

I had been working on a project in stager that I had brought over from Dimension (opened the dimension file in stager and then stave as stager file.sgg. I was working on modifying some materials applied to an object when the decals I had applied previously disappeared and a dialog box came up saying "A problem caused the application to stop working correctly"...

I closed out stager and re-opened the file but the same dialog came up. in desperation I uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled. Now the application seemingly hangs on opening with the splash screen saying "loading application..." for hours and hours on end.

I am stuck with an expensive monthly fee and no Stager. Ideas?

    I have the same issue. At first, Stager worked. But on the next day, it hangs on the loading application. I'm using the Steam version and on the opening app I also got a dialogue window from Steam to open the app with specified parameters - I clicked "OK" - still, the app cannot be loaded. I tried to reinstall it, but with no success.

     

    From logs all I can see it that they stopped on loading fonts:

      I think I found a solution to this problem.

       

      If you pin this app to the taskbar and launch from it, it won't work.

      If you start it from the Steam app or from the desktop icon created by Steam, it will work fine.

       

      Sad thing is that adobe support ignored my email on substance3D-bugs@adobe.com about this issue so it seems that if you have an issue, you have to solve it on your own.

      Just experienced the same problem. Will not load. Was there ever a fix for this? 

      It won't great on Friday. I came in Monday and it will not open. Just hangs at the loading application screen.

      Can you please try launching the app then go to the Help > Get logs menu and get your Stager.log file?  You can email it to Substance3D-bugs@adobe.com and we can take a look.  Please include a link to this forum in your email so we have the context about the issue the log is for as well.  Please do not share your logs on the forum as they contain information about your device that may include path and user names and such.

        @JMathews Thanks for the response. I would love to send the team the log... but Stager never opens. It sits here (see screenshot, i have waited hours) and never loads. Is there another way to manually access the log?

        Mac:  ~/Library/Logs/Adobe/Stager.log

        Win: ~/Users/<user>/AppData/Local/Adobe/Stager/Stager.log
