8.3 Filenames for Webhelp?

Hi,

I would like to generate Webhelp output with all installables limited to the 8.3 filenaming convention (destination is FAT-formatted). I haven't been able to find a toggle for this in RoboHelp 7.00.145 (part of ATCS 1.3). Anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks,

- Clam

Thanks for the responses RoboWizard and MergeThis. As luck would have it, I still have FM7/WWP 8 -- that combo does have an 8.3 toggle, so I guess I'll take that route.

Thanks again,

Why is the fact that the destination is FAT formatted relevant? My understanding is the filename format is down to the operating system.

Welcome to our community, Clam

I don't believe it will be possible to easily create WebHelp output that conforms strictly to the 8.3 file format.

At minimum, I might suggest that you name all topics adhering to the format. But you will need to monkey with the output files big time in order to try and get down to the 8.3 format.

Good luck with your quest... Rick

Sorry, most of the RH-generated-on-the-fly files in the whdata and whxdate navigation folders are 9.3.

Good luck,
