Question

Adding the Mini TOC (right pane) to the Table of Contents (left pane)

Hi Everyone,

I am working on a project using a default skin and the usual components on the homepage and topic pages ie. buttons, TOC and MiniTOC etc.

The difference between my TOC and MiniTOC is that the Mini TOC has all Heading 2 broken into items on the relevant topic page.

So this means on the topic page the user can either scroll down the page past the various headings or click on any of the sub-links listed in the MiniTOC to navigate on the topic page.

I would like to remove the MiniTOC on the right completely and have the same level of detail added into the default TOC.

Please can I have some assistance on how to accomplish this? Currently I have removed the MiniTOC but struggling to add the same level of detail listed in my TOC.

Any Support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance

Regards,
Davendren

The only way you will do it on the left is to bookmark every heading and then create a link in the TOC to those bookmarks. Lots of manual work for something that can be done automatically. Prone to error when you add a heading and forget to update the TOC.

You should apply Update 6. From 2020.0 you cannot do that from the Help menu. See the forum announcements for how to apply the update. Update 6 includes all the previous ones so you only need to apply that.

    Hi Mr Grainge,

    Thank you for your feedback.

-I have ran Update 6 from 2020.0 as you advised.
-I then bookmarked the headings I required to appear in the TOC (H2, H3, H4) and Auto-Generated the TOC as required.
-I renamed the Bookmarks to reflect correctly in the TOC.
    - I also created Sections where necessary to indent bookmarks in the TOC.

Although this was a "Longer Process" I did not mind putting in the work, as it would be a once off task.
This has solved my problem, I would like to thank you for the prompt and clear response. It is greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,
