Audio Files automatically Play when Generating HTML/CHM Help in RH10

When I following the instructions for inserting a Multimedia file using the Insert > Multimedia Demo option.

I can insert an audio clip (.wav) no problem. I can click the View Selected Items icon and see an audio player (Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/jBowwVKtQ), but when I actually generate the help I no longer get an audio player and the sound clip automatically plays.

Is there a way that I can have the audio clip and player appear when I generate the help like when I use the View Selected Items icon and not auto play with no player option?

Thanks for your help!

Hi there

A few months back I facilitated an Adobe webinar on using multimedia in RoboHelp. Indeed, this is one of the pain points and where I REALLY wish folks would create an outcry and demand better multimedia support!

The fasted and safest best bet for audio clips is to create a small Captivate SWF that you could then embed into a topic. Second best is to host the audio clip on something like SoundCloud and use their embed code.

Thanks Rick!

While that wasn't 100% the answer I wanted to hear, it is nice to know that I'm not going crazy within the application trying to figure this out. I agree with you that Robohelp does need more multimedia support!

I appreciate you taking the time to respond and provide a suitable alternative solution to my problem!

Thanks,

CK
