Bug ID 13499: What's the status in which in RH version?

The “Fixed issues” list for RoboHelp Update 2026.03 says:
“Adding the same snippet to a topic more than once results in only a single instance being added, preventing multiple insertions of the same snippet. (Bug ID: 13499)”

If that has been fixed, is it now possible to insert multiple instances of the same snippet in a topic?

We were relying on that feature before updating to 2026.01 - and why shouldn’t we? Snippets are made for reusing the same content, be it in other topics or in the same topic.

What’s the status of that in the last three RoboHelp versions?

And if that was changed between 2022.0x and 2026.01, what happened to already existing multiples? Have they been deleted? Or is it just a new Authoring feature and existing content has not been touched?

@gb92818477 Same as @Jeff_Coatsworth. I'm not clear what you will be asking.

@Jeff_Coatsworth Maybe @gb92818477 is on an Enterprise licence when all questions have to go through the admin.

@Jeff_Coatsworth: yes, we’re on an Enterprose license and need to ask questions at our IT desk.

@Peter Grainge, @Jeff_Coatsworth: Well, maybe you’re right. I think I did my best now to check in our versioning base (Git repository) if there were any changes to topics or snippets that may have contained multiple instances of the same topic. Seems as if we’re good. 😅

The initial question I had is obsolete then: After installing the RH 2026.03 update, we should be able to continue our usual workflow, what isn’t possible right now for new topics under RH 2026.01.

So thanks a lot for helping me to comprehend that “fixed issue” note!

Thanks, @Peter Grainge, for trying to help out here. So I gues I have to take the long way now: Asking our IT desk to submit this question to the Adobe support team.

Huh? What are you trying to ask of them? When did it break? It was a bug, somebody reported it & it got fixed on 2026.03 - what more do you need? And why would you log a ticket with your own IT when you can email the RH folks yourself at tcssup@adobe.com

    Clarification:

@Jeff_Coatsworth: We’re using multiples of the same snippet with recurring action steps, recurring hints and notes and so on - and I think we can agree that that’s the purpose of using snippets. Those recurring elements can live in different topics, and even in the same topic at different places.

@Peter Grainge: I don’t comprehend the statement that is put into the “Fixed issues” section. Adding multiple instances of a snippet to the same topic was possible before, I know that because I did that sometimes in RoboHelp up to the 2025.x releases.

That’s why I want to know what the status is in the most recent 2025.x, the 2026.01 (which we’re working with for some months now) and in the 2026.03 release of RoboHelp.

Was that considered a bug, and that’s now fixed with RH 2026.03? Or was there a change in RH 2026.01 already? And if so, what happened when we updated our projects to that RH version?

If so, we need to consider which RH project state in our Git repository to take for diffing to find the occurrences of now-deleted snippets.

Of course, even if only RH 2026.03 would bear a problem in Authoring for us we can’t avoid updating forever. But right now we’re more concerned about missing action steps, hints and notes in our 2026.01-based content.

@gb92818477 I don’t know when putting the same snippet in more than once broke and it’s not possible to access the bug as it was an internal bug report. I have just added the same snippet twice to a 2026.03 project and both instances appeared in a frameless output.

I don’t have a project with that setup from before it broke so I cannot test that scenario. To the best of my recollection the second and subsequent instances didn’t appear but the code remained. No guarantee on that though.

    Does that help?

That’s one I’ve never run across - I don’t think I’ve ever had to insert the same snippet in the same topic more than one time; a couple of different snippets in the same topic, yes, but not multiples of the same snippet.
I suspect that existing multiples were just left alone - the bug was when you tried to add new ones to the topic.

Have you tested it in your own project(s) and found it fails? Otherwise I am not following why you are asking here as it’s easy to test. I somehow feel there’s more to the question.
