Question

Can you run RH9 on a server?

I am not talking about the RH9 Server app, but the authoring tool? Our company wants to be able to install and run it from a remote server so multiple people can use one instance of RH. It isn't often maintained so they don't want one person to have the app on their computer and I'm going away. They are running Windows Server 2003. The help system is merged and is huge. Having trouble running it and compiling is very slow.

Thanks!

No. Rh is not supported on that OS. Also it is my understanding that is

also a breach of the licence which is for one user.

It could be on an PC with a fictitious user so that only one person can use

it at any one time.

Hi there

In addition to what my esteemed collegaue has advised, note that you should be able to get your IT peeps to configure things so you don't even have to physically be at the PC he's suggesting. You can establish a remote desktop session and "drive" the PC with RoboHelp remotely.

Cheers... Rick
