Cannot connect to database

Hi Everyone! We've installed RoboSource Control 3.1 server on a virtual machine. We are trying to connect to a database that is on a remote database server. We have the database created and are just trying to connect to it. In the "Create Database" wizard for Name we add the name of the database and for Database Instance: we add the name of the database server. Get an error stating "Unable to connect to the master database with the connection string...." Are you able to connect to a remote database and database server from RoboSource Control or does RoboSource Control Server need to be installed on the same server on which the database resides?

Hi Bill -

Usually when I run into an error like that, it means that I haven't logged in correctly. When I first set up a project, the following must all match:
- Login/password for rsc server
- Login/password for SQL server account
- Login/password for initial administrator account that you set up for the db in RSC

If any of these don't match, I have problems with setup or initial access. Later, when I have the db all set up with user accounts and permissions, then it's no longer an issue.
