Question

Chinese characters

I'm using RoboHelp 7 which I believe is Unicode compatible and therefore should work with Chinese characters etc.

I’m looking into translating my English help into Chinese (with help from a Chinese colleague). I have an English keyboard etc. so I tried to cut and paste some Chinese into the design window or RoboHelp and all I got was little square boxes. However, when I use the HTML preview window the characters are there in all their glory.

Any idea what’s going on? Will my translators be able to type directly into RoboHelp in Chinese? Is it just a Windows language setting thing on my PC perhaps?

Thanks.

Are you using a unicode font? Try Arial Unicode.

Also make sure you apply the patch released today. Help | Updates.

Excellent. Thanks for that. I didn't realise that Unicode was font specific - I was obviously using the wrong one and now it works with Arial Unicode.

Thanks again.
