Collaborate functionality (Sharepoint)

Hi All,

I've been trying to use the 'Collaborate' functionality for the first time in RH (v. 2022.1.188) but I was unsuccessful. I am trying to use Sharepoint as my main repository. I followed the steps that are enlisted in RH Community (https://helpx.adobe.com/it/robohelp/using/sharepoint.html).

I'm having issues trying to understand which path to use in the Output Presets (Output Path / Local Path). Whenever I choose a local path, I am not able to generate the project.

Anyone having issues using Sharepoint as repository?

It would be very useful to find an extensive guide to understand how to collaborate.

Just to confirm, you only used the "Download a project from sharepoint online" instructions once each, not each time you open the project?

After doing that, you should use the normal method of opening your project from the File menu or Recent section of the home screen.

When you open the project, to get the latest version off the server, you click Collaborate > Get Latest Version.

And you use Checkout and Check In when you want to edit a topic and add it back to the server. You should see the latest version when you check out a file, but I have seen (with older versions of RH and TFS, admittedly) cases where the latest version wasn't "got" and had to be refresh manually. If there's a right-click > Get Latest option, it might be worth trying that before checking out.

I believe the idea is to use SP as the location to hold the project source files, but you check them out to work locally on them and output to a local folder.

Indeed. But I'm entountering issues when my colleague uploads the project from his RH to SP and then I download it on my RH. In this case, I cannot see his edits nor am I able to generate the project.

I'd give the RH folks a buzz - see https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.
