Configuring a word file for import to RoboHelp 11

I am considering moving from AuthorIt to RoboHelp 11 (actually the Tech Suite as I use Captivate). I am trying it out now, but my word docs are importing and instead of forming topics, I am getting bookmarks. I've tried reading through the help and following instructions, but nothing seems to work. Can anyone give me some clues on how to solve this? I understand that I have to configure the word file, but can't figure out what needs to be done. Would appreciate any suggestions.
