Hi everyone, hope you all are doing ok.

I need to export topics from RoboHelp (2020, last version) to a format that would allow me to repurpose the content on another platform. After some searching online and in this forum, I decided to use the "Content Only" output, which I thought would export my topics in XML format.

Then I configured the output as explained in the Robohelp manual and I exported my topics. The results is that RH has generated only a few xml files that contain basically a list of resources, but my topics are stil exported in HTM format...

Am I missing something? I need all my topics exported in XML format (or in some other standard formats that can be imported in another system, such as JSON, XLSX, and so on).

For what it is worth, I just checked how this worked in an old Classic version and it is exactly the same. It would seem what you are seeing is as designed and it is the design that needs explaining. Hopefully Support can do that. It might also be worth checking with your own developers if you can. They might well understand it too.

Please let us know what you learn.

The help says the topics are exported as XHTML which is part of the XML family of markup languages. It's basically stricter HTML that meets the XML rules. See here for the basics: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_xhtml.asp

I don't think there are any other options for xml output.
