Creating columns in RH for Word

Hi;

I have been working with tables in Word to create a side-by-side layout, graphics on the left, text on the right for a demo documentation project. I was reading in the RH online help that tables are tossed away in the generation of .chm files, and that they aren't recommended for many reasons, including that the indexing and search capabilities ignore them. Soooooo... how do I create side-by-side content without using tables that will be properly lined up when the .chm file is generated. This project will be translated into Japanese, so the column style layout is preferred.

Can anyone explain how to design a layout like this and have it look the same when the .chm is generated without using tables?

I think you are confusing chm files with winhelp. Tables work just fine and the search covers their content.

Create a new project with just a couple of topics and test it.
