Default Topic: "It may have been moved, edited, or deleted." issue.

Hello,

 

I am having an issue with RoboHelp 2022. We upgraded a RoboHelp Classic Project and when we go to create a new output, the default topic gives us this message: "It may have been moved, edited, or deleted." The file displays properly when we manually navigate to it, as well as everything else in the project. There are also 2 folders in My Documents: "_rh2022" and the other one does not have this suffix. The 2022 folder appears to be the project folder.

    So, we have resolved the issue.

     

    Our default topic was named: "Introduction & General Information", and by changing the ampersand to "and", the default topic is now displaying correctly. Not exactly sure why this is but we have gone back and forth between "and" and "&", and it works every time when changed the "and".

    For the web, it's really best to only use letters, numbers, - (dash) and _ (underscore) in the file names. That way you don't have to worry about escaping characters that have special meanings for URLs (like #, % and &).

      If you edit the preset there is a field where you define the default topic,

      The Default Topic in my responsive HTML5 output preset is pointing to the article that I want, but displays the "It may have been moved, edited, or deleted" message when I generate and preview.

      When RoboHelp upgrades from Classic it applies the old name plus _rh2022 by default. It sounds like in My Projects you have the Classic version and the new version. Unlike previous upgrades, when you go from Classic to the new UI, the Classic project is left untouched.

       

      The folder structure is different so that probably explains why the path to your default topic is wrong. Simply correct it in the preset (that's the SSL in Classic).

      I am not sure I understand what you mean by "correct it in the preset". I am looking through your website that you linked and trying to find the approriate information.

       

      Any information on how to do so would be greatly appreciated.
