Question

Deleting folders and references from Project Manager

Hi

1. I've deleted a folder from the Project Manager and the hard disc, but robohelp keeps recreating this folder informing that I should delete it properly from the PM. (The folder is no longer on the PM.)

2. When trying to link a word doc (which was deleted) , robohelp doesn't allow it and displays a message that the doc is already referenced in the project.

How can I find the reference, delete the folder and its content from PM to enable me to recreate the folder and then re-link the word file.

Thanks

Have you tried renaming and reopening the CPD file?

Hi RonHAVT and welcome to the RH community.

There is almost definitely still a reference to this folder somewhere inside your project. I'm not sure if your Word linking issue is related to the folder but if it isn't the starting point would be the same. You can try using the Edit > Find and Replace in Files menu item. Point the Where field to your project directory, change the Named field to *.* and the Find field to the folder name.

The problem is that this tool is limited in what it can do. It would be better to invest in a third party find and replace tool to perform this type of function. FAR and BkReplacem are two of the best.
