Do the new search features work with FlashHelp in RoboHelp 8? I have the Technical Communication Suite (v1) with RoboHelp 7. I don't really need the upgrade for the suite, but I'm interested in the new search functionality fo RoboHelp 8. Will these new search features work with FlashHelp?

Can I install the RoboHelp 8 trial and run it parallel with my RoboHelp 7?

I don't have TCS2 but I do have a beta version of RH8 on a machine that also has RH7.

I would need to check the new search is in the FlashHelp output but I would be surprised if it is not.

I understand both TCS1 and 2 can be co-installed but I haven't actually done it. If you do install, the later versions will become the default if you double click a file in Windows Explorer, so an XPJ would try to open in RH8. You would get a warning and you must not open your live projects in RH8 as there is no going back. You must work on copies by way of trying things.

If you can install on a different PC, that is preferable.

Peter,

Thanks very much for the important information about installing the RoboHelp 8 trial. I will install it on a virtual machine. The only problem is that it's on a network and I know there have been problems in the past running RoboHelp on a network (although I've had no problems at all working remotely through Citrix). I'll post what I find out about the FlashHelp search. I'm sure you already know that you can't do phrase searches currently.
