Question

Does anyone know if Robohelp 9 fixes the auto sizing popup problem that happened in RH8?

Some of my popups in my generated webhelp file are getting chopped off at the bottom. I have done all the steps that I found in this forum and on Peter G's site to fix my popups (except for adding an extra line to all of them). Any chance that upgrading from RH8 to RH9 is going to fix my popups without my having to add that extra line?

Why not the extra line at the bottom? That's the one that works.

Create a new project with just a few topics that have the problem. Send it as per the Contact page on my site and I will tell you what happens in RoboHelp 9. I could test one of my projects but would not assure you what would happen with your projects.

    Hi Peter,

I have hundreds of popups. I'd have to go through the entire project and check every single popup. I can do that but was trying to avoid it. I will get the project built and sent to you today. Thank you.

The short answer appears to be: no, that wasn't fixed. I also have thousands of popups and had to, with RH8, put in two hard lines at the bottom of each popup to avoid them getting cut off in a browser.

With RH9, it's even more peculiar: I need to keep those two hard lines to avoid getting the bottom of the auto-sizing popups from getting cut off in RH9's "eyeglass" viewer (which wasn't the case in RH8). But, when displaying the popups in IE8, it does not matter if the popup has no extra lines, one extra line, or two extra lines--each popup in IE8 has about an inch of space (at my monitor resolution) at the bottom. Every single one, regardless of extra lines or not.

I'm still investigating the issue, but...I may just toss my hands up and focus on Solitaire or something else productive...<G>
