I have a large project that - with the other authors pieces as well - takes a long time to generate, publish, and make an archival copy of the project files.

My boss would like to include a spreadsheet as a part of the help site. He'd like the link to be live so that we don't have to update the helpsite to update it. - he could update the spreadsheet, and the results show in the help site (or through a link).

Also - it would be great it people could update the spreadsheet throught the same link.

Do-able?

Gail

The way to handle this is not to have it inside your help at all. If you have the excel file at the same location on your website, all you need to do is to add something to your topic (e.g. click here to update the spreadsheet) and link the text to the URL where the file is located. You could even open up the link in a new window - from the "Display in Frame" drop down - if you wished so that your users will know it is outside the help.
