Empty Pages while Reload in RoboHelp7

Hello to everyone!
I need urgent help with HTML RoboHelp7 on a Windows XP machine.

If I reopen a HTML page inside a RoboHelp7 project, the page is empty and the HTML source contains only the standard header. Physicially the page and the old content is inside (I can see it with IE7) until I save the file from RoboHelp7 again. Then everything of the old contents is lost.

At first I thought it was an error of files of the earlier version of RH. But then I noticed that also RH7 own files no longer displays. The files contain only some text, a table and a DHTML popup. In my latest tests, all with RH7 created to be sure. It looks as RH7 do not understand his own code.

Does anybody has a hint for me ?

Thank you for any help!

When I said patches I was referring to the Adobe updates. 7.0.1 and 7.0.2.

Allowing autoupdates is an individual decision but there were a lot of fixes in them as described in Using RH7 on my site.

Hello Peter,
thanks for your prompt reply.

Yes, I did the patches, it works fine. After this, I didn't allow any autoupdate of the software. This days I will start a new version of the project. What about the Adobe official updates ? Shall I allow it now ? Is the fix inside ?

Patched some time ago. Have you applied both patches?

I cannot recall offhand if it fixes existing prrojects or only stops this happening when you uprgrade a project.

Would it be too much to ask for someone from Adobe to acknowledge the existence of this issue and give some indication of what is being done?

I know that these are supposed to be peer to peer forums but that hasn't stopped Adobe reps from pitching in on many occasions in the past. To my mind this is a showstopper of a bug.

I am meeting with some Adobe reps on Friday. This is one of the items on my list to discuss with them. I'll post their response ASAP.

Thanks for posting. It is useful as it helps Adobe know the extent of the problem. As you have taken this up with Support, can I ask you to contact me via my site with the Support reference? I will then make sure two different parts of Adobe are aware of each others knowledge.

Here's another user having the same issue to add to your bin. We just recently upgraded to RoboHelp 7 from X5. Any topics in X5 that had tables or graphics in drop-downs are empty topics when we upgrade the project to RH7. I opened a support web case on this issue and am waiting for a response. I uploaded an X5 small project with no custom coding so that my support rep could test this (at his request). As we did a clean, new installation of RoboHelp Source Control 3.1, with a new database, and are migrating projects from old server to new server, we have not lost any data (yet). I always have the old data in the old server database if I need it again.

The point here is opening a project from an earlier version.
