error in generate word

Hi everyone,

I have RH 2020.7.46 and when I tried to generate word Output I receive the attached message "Failed to generate word" I tried to use, in the Style mapping, for Character, paragraph and tables both "use Robohelp style" option and "use word default" but both options didn't work.

Can you help me to solve this problem?

Hi Peter,

not really, I didn't install the Patch 8, but other users solved the problem with the simple update. However, having solved the previous problem by inserting the link to the correct PDF file, this of the word is a secondary problem that I will wait to verify with the next update.

Is it happening in the sample project? If not, then the issue is inside your project; if so, then there may be something wrong with RH - try updating to Patch 8 first.

The cause can be many things so it seems to be time for the old divide and conquer approach.

In the new UI the output is controlled by what is in the TOC so create two copies of your TOC and delete different halves. One should work and one should fail.

Assuming one half only failed, create a copy of it and again delete different halves. By repeating that you should narrow things down to the topic(s) giving grief.

If both failed, you need to create smaller and smaller sections.
