Question

extended ASCII (aka latin 8) characters in some of the *.htm and *.js files

When RoboHelp version 7 produces WebHelp (html based) help documents, some of the *.htm and *.js files contains 4 or 5 extended ASCII (aka latin 😎 characters at the beginning of these files. The extra characters interfere with how a browser renders the HTML when the files are hosted on an HTTP server (apache HTTP server).

Any idea how this happens or how to fix it?

See Using RH7 on my site. They are known as BOM characters.
