Extra spacing between words in a line when an icon is inserted

Why do i see extra spacing between words in a line when an icon is inserted. Can someone please help me fix this issue as this is affecting readability?

If so, you have the following options:

Increase the spacing of the style you have applied to the text.
Reduce the image size.

I've had success in selecting the icon and then setting the margin to a negative amount (for example, -4 px). This works in RoboHelp 9, in the HTML output, but only if there's not a line above and below.

It doesn't help with our Word outputs.
