Failed in generation

I hit "Failed to generate printed documentation" when I generated in Printed Documentation in Single Source Layout under Project tab. This is RobohelpX5 and using Word 2003.
It stopped at Clearing Output file. What could be the problem?

OK. The other thing that sticks out a mile is the size of your .DOC file. 9MBs sounds big. I have a 90 page document here that is little more than 1.5MBs. Not sure whether this has anything to do with this problem but it might be worth experimenting by removing elements (e.g. images) on some topics. Also have you got access to RH on another PC? Could you see if the same problem exists there? As the others have said, this could be caused by a multitude of reasons but we'll get there in the end!

Have your images been Pasted in, rather than inserted ( Insert > Picture > From File > Insert [NOT Link to File OR Insert and Link])?

Pasting or Linking generally causes problems.

Have you tried removing the 103rd topic is case this is the issue? Also you haven't said anywhere if your project os on a network or hard drive?

Hi Column,

I did that.... removed 103rd topic (refer to item# 3 in previous reply).
I also mentioned the old reply... that the RH software and project are in local hard disk (which I replied to Harvey).

As Peter says,
"It could be one of many things."

First I would ask whether the RH project is stored on your PC hard drive, or on a network. It should be on the local hard drive.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your help. I have changed the Macro Security to Medium. Also, download some files (following the "Was Snippet 26"). Unfortunately, I still hit the same problem.
Wondering why it stopped at "Clearing Output file". What did Robohelp try to do here?

Is Clearing Output one of your files? If it is, take a backup and then remove it to see if you can then generate an output.

Are you using RH for Word or RH HTML?
