Question

Get error message and it removes Master Page from Topic

I get the following message sometimes when I edit a topic but definitely don't get near the header or footer. Then as soon as I save the topic, I lose my Master Page connection to it. And I have to go into Properties for that topic and pick the master page again!! This started one day after using RoboHelp HTML for a month. Does anyone else have this problem?

Ok, Rick, sorry for sending wrong screen print. Thanks so much for helping, just been doing this for 2 1/2 months.

Am I correct in assuming that what I see at the top of the Master Page is perhaps a Table with Images? And am I further correct in assuming these are present courtesy of a Snippet?

Okay, so here's what I'd try. Create a duplicate copy of the Master Page. Assuming I was correct about the Snippet, remove the Snippet and replace the content with what was in the Snippet. Then see if the issue goes away.

If not, remove the Footer from the Master Page and see if the issue resolves.

Yes, the header is a table with images. However it is not a Snippet, I haven't gotten into using Snippets at all yet. I just did "Insert Image" within the table.

I need the copyright at the bottom of each page and the line, which someone requested.

This issue seems to surface on a regular basis.

What exactly do you have in the header or footer area of your Master Page? Can you post a screen capture?

Here is screen shot. It is a small topic not done yet w/header & footer but

it seems to happen on ones that have been filled in and are longer. I'm

fairly careful not to get into the header or footer area. Has anyone turned

it in as a bug?

If you replied using E-Mail and attached an image, you can't work that way. You need to visit the forums interface and use its means to get stuff in there we ask to see.
