Question

Handling mutiple TOC and Tile Image

Hi Community,

Context: I am generating two outputs from a single source. One is for light theme screenshots and another one is for dark theme screenshots. I've captured the screenshots and applied conditional tags to the images. Also, I've two output presets as well for dark and light themes.

Challenge: I have also applied tile images to the TOC. Now, I have a separate dark theme and white theme tile icons, creating two identical TOC with different tile images will work for this, but if any change in TOC comes in the future, I need to track and do this for both the TOC separately. Is it possible to generate two different outputs with different tile image using a single TOC?

I'm not clear whether you are talking about the Home Page tiles set in the template or images in the TOC. You are referring to tile images in the TOC but tiles are a home page thing in the template.

That said, you can't set two images in either with tags so it would be something like @Amebr has suggested.

As you have to create different images for both, I would have thought two templates and two TOC kept in sync would be easy enough, other than remembering. 🙂

Perhaps a post build script could work? If the image tiles are all stored in one place in the output, you could set up one TOC only and then for the other output use a script that runs after the build and copies the correct toc icons over them in the output. The icons for both sets would have to have the same names.

The field to specify the script location is in one of the tabs of the output preset. You might have to get a developer involved to write the script, but I *think* it should be pretty simple.

Can you apply conditions to a TOC item in RH2022? I don't know off-hand, but I don't think so.

I forgot to mention the RH version, I am using RH 2022 and generating Frameless output.
