Question

Having Trouble with Frameless

1. Context-Sensitive Help will not work if we have broken links in Robohelp, which we do. Every time I compile it, it breaks another topic's name. Main Part Entry becomes "new topic", Part Price Entry becomes "new topic1", etc. This breaks our ability to link from the Old Help.

2. For every topic the above issue happens to, it destroys the image map. Image mapping might not be available if we can't get that fixed.

3. Every time I compile this file, the formatting is ruined as well. Spaces disappear and are added in random spots.

4. The font is no longer the font I chose when accessed from a computer that does not have poppins (the font) installed.

I looked at the file @Zachary24897071nluu sent me and the file Main Part Entry has a file name of new_topic.htm so RoboHelp is not changing anything, the same with the other example. The CSH file is using these file names so the calls should work. However, maybe the developers have an older version.

I have suggested offline that the file names are fixed and the CSH is checked.

I will now await the response from @Zachary24897071nluu

OK that establishes this is project related. Can you share the project? If you can, then see the Contact page on my site and send the project as instructed there. Do make sure you include a link to this thread and please do not email the project direct.

Yes I did manage to work out it is wrong! I need to know more so that I can work out what so my question is not irrelevant. I cannot help you without knowing more.

No one has ever reported that file names change on generation so it's a step by step process.

First of all please create a new project using the default CSS. Create a second topic in it and link one to the other. Generate that. Do you see the same issue?

    Peter,

The issues does not appear when I create a new project and link two topics together. When generating, the topics remain as "First Topic" and "Second Topic".

However, I will say that for the first few weeks of using Robohelp 2020, this issue did not occur. It took a while for things to get wonky.

I really appreciate the help! I use your website all the time to help with things that are easier to handle than this.

You haven't said which version of RoboHelp you are using. Please always start a thread with this information. Please go to Help > About and include the full version number.

    1. You'll need to explain what you are doing here and what you mean by link from the Old Help.
    2. Let's resolve the first issue and see if that helps here.
    3. Formatting issues could be CSS related but that wouldn't create or remove spaces. Again let's look when more information is posted.
    4. That depends on how you have defined the font. It's explained at Using Font Awesome, Google Fonts, @font-face and SVGs in RoboHelp (grainge.org)

    a) Try generating the About RoboHelp sample project. Click Open Project and browse to Documents, then My RoboHelp Projects. Does that work OK?

    b) Where is your project located, locally or on a network drive? Also are you generating to the same drive as the source project?

    c) Is this a project recently upgraded from Classic?

Thanks for your response, I am new to the forum.

    I am using Robohelp 2020.7.46.

    1. What I am trying to do is irrelevant, the main takeaway is that names of topics are changing on compilation. For example, the topic named Basic POS becomes just "Ba.htm.". Or Main Part Entry becomes "new topic.htm". This is wrong!

    2. I will wait on this one as you said.

    3. I will wait on this one as you said.

    4. I have defined the font properly at the beginning! It all looks good according to the Google Font I used.

    a.) Yes, it works fine.

b.) My source prokect is located locally. I am generating to the same drive as the source project.

c.) No, this was a fresh project. Fully new.
