Question

How can I edit the CSS of an HTML5 Skin?

Hi, I am rather stumped on what seems a very simple task. How can I edit the CSS of this skin? The source code shows "layout.css" being referenced but I cannot find this file.

I have changed the background color of my topics to a dark shade and the Skin (charcoal grey) displays a white border around the topic area. In the dev console I see that I need to add the background color to a div class "topic main sidebar-opened".

I do not think that I am the first user to apply a background shading and everybody who does will run into this problem with HTML5. Yet I could not find a solution.

Robert

Changing the installation file is probably "permanent" until you install an update. 🙂

What you should do is add your changes to a custom css file that you add in the html5 skin > Layout > User Assets.

I think it is an output file. look in Template > Your skin name.

That would mean editing it every time. I will ask someone else who knows more about this area.

Found it. The CSS files are stored in the RH folder under resources\data\template\layouts, not under the skin name.

Changes to that should be permanent.

    Thanks for the help !

I think you will find that file in the skin folder.

Hi, it would be nice if it where that simple. When I search the entire project folder, only two other CSS files are found and they are both in the assets folder.
