Question

How can I substitute the default title page with my own title page?

Using RH10 HTML, generating PDF.  I would like to use a different title page rather than the default provided when a PDF is generated.  I have seen references to supplying my own page, but I am not sure how to do this:

Do I create the page in Word and then import into my project?

If I do import, does it matter what level the file is imported to?  In other words, does it have to go into the root level?

How do I get RH to use that page as the title page in the generated file?

Can I include links to my chapters on the title page?  If so, can I edit the title page in RH and include the RH generated links?

Thank you!

You create the page in Word and import it. How is covered in Printed Documentation on my site.

I doubt you can create the links before the document is generated. How could your cover link to something that does not exist at the time? Once the document is generated, you can do what you like with it in Word but you will have to do that every time you generate.

It is unusual for a cover to link to content but I guess you have your reasons.

Hi Peter –

Thanks for getting back to me. I decided to try and create the page from within RH, and define that page as my cover page during PDF generation.

As far as my reasons for this: I want to have a cover with links since I am creating an online manual, and this way users can navigate to topics as soon as the manual opens.

Thanks again!
