How to stop pages using the TOC page layout?

After much wrestling and googling, I'm 99% of the way there with my first PDF template out of RoboHelp, but now I can't stop the bulk of my content from using the TOC page layout that it seems to inherit from the Front Matter. How do I specifically set a page to use the "Common" page layout, for example? I thought I knew how this was done using the pagination option for the topic, but I can't seem to replicate what I thought I did before.....
