Question

HTML Header appearing in Help window (Java app)

I am at a new job where they take topics authored in RoboHelp and somehow embedd the content into F1 help windows in a Java app (I am working on getting them to launch a true Help from the app).

They have a recurring issue where when the topic is viewed in the app there is a line of HTML header at the top of each topic. This does not appear if I just open the topic in a browser.

Apparently they removed this from the HTML files in the last release, but since I edited them in RoboHelp the header has reappeared.

Does anyone know if there is something in RoboHelp that may be causing this ?

Thanks

Are you talking about a breadcrumb trail at the top of the topic? If so, that can be turned off in a couple of ways - one is to make sure that they're not on your master page & the other is to not select the option when generating. Maybe you can post a screen shot to show what appears & what doesn't?

No its a standard header that appears at the top of all files if you look at the HTML code.

I tried to get a sample but I can't access the machine that has the help on it right now.

Perhaps they have a process that strips off the coding "post-production"? I know that RH will kindly "adjust" your html when it thinks you're missing code.
