Question

If url has hashtag, corresponding html page is not getting selected in toc(left navigation pane)

I am using Frameless studio skin(Robo help version  2020.8.34).If we navigate to a specific topic in a html page(using cross reference or by hyperlink). The corresponding page is not getting selected in left navigation pane.

If we use cross reference, even if the topic is in same html page, once we navigate to that particular topicid, selection goes off in left navigation pane.

If we use hyperlink, if topic is in same html page, in local machine, it works fine, when we navigate to that topic. But in web, once we navigate to that particular topicid, selection goes off in left navigation pane.

If we use crossreference/hyperlink to a topic in different html file, when we navigate to that html topic, url shows that htmlfile with #topicid. But the same html file is not getting selected in left pane. The left pane shows only the list of html pages with none got selected.

Thanks

Do please post the number as I'll vote for it. It correctly syncs in responsive Azure Blue (2019) but not for Indigo (2019) and seems like a very odd decision for Frameless and some responsive skins.

It seems that this is by design. If you want the bookmark to be synced in the TOC, it must be added to the TOC. I suggest you log this.

Please follow this link to report bugs or request new features. https://tracker.adobe.com. Post the link to your bug report / feature request in this thread and others can vote for it. The more people who do so, the higher it gets prioritised.

Looking at this some more and working with Adobe, the issue only seems to be when the link (hyperlink or cross reference) is to a bookmark.

Can you please test that scenario?

Also if the bookmark is moved to the end of the paragraph it is in, that seems to work. Not ideal but it could be a workaround for now.

Sorry about the delay. I was travelling and then ill.

I have tested both a hyperlink and a cross reference and the TOC synchronisation is lost when either are clicked.

I have reported this to Adobe.

Try adding a link to the bookmark in the TOC. If that works, try hiding that link using Hide in TOC and see if it still works.

Based on your suggestions, we tried 2 scenarios

    1. We have added link to bookmark in toc and checked. Works fine for navigation within a page, but if we navigate from another page,we are not able to see the selection in the left pane because the section is not getting expanded

    2. We have hidden the link in toc and checked, it is not working. The page is not getting selected

I don't have access to RoboHelp at the moment to test. I will when I can but it will be some time.

See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.

Can you post some screenshots to show what's happening? Did you make any customizations to the Frameless skin? Does it happen with the sample project too?

I have taken the screen shots on a sample project without any customization to the frameless studio skin.
