Increasing font size in skin for TOC and Index?

Good morning,

Is there a way to increase the font size in the skin for the TOC and Index? I've selected the font that's needed for the skin, but there doesn't seem to be a way to increase the size of it in the TOC and Index.

    I'm not privy to Adobe's plans but I doubt HTML5 will be pulled anytime soon. Indeed, I would imagine that with its many users it will be good until such time as maybe technical issues dictate otherwise.

    Where you will be at a disadvantage is new features, templates and so on will be for frameless. HTML5 will be "as is" other than bug fixes.

    Given you have put effort into customisation and are happy with what you have, plus any context sensitive help using URLs would need to change, if it were me I would probably stick for now and watch for rumblings that contradict the above. As above, I would guess that is quite a long way off.

    Please note, these are just my personal views.

    I don't  have access to RH2022 right now, but you want to right-click on the text in the toc to get to the specific text entry, then you want to go up the hierarchy until you find an element with a font size assigned. In this example we go up one level to find it. You want to add the selectors to your custom stylesheet, add only the font-size property and change the value to what you want. Dont' pay too  much attention to the selectors in my example as they may be very different (for example rh2022 might use dt/dd selectors rather than ul/li selectors) - just find the first level that lists a font-size.

    e.g.

    body.media-desktop div.toc-holder ul li.book, body.media-desktop div.toc-holder ul li.item, body.media-desktop div.toc-holder ul li.url {
        font-size: 2em;
    }

    You will probably need to repeat this process for the index tab, and also for tablet and mobile sized windows.

    I'll try to have a look at RH2022 tonight, but I have some very tight deadlines right now.

    I forgot to add a screenshot to illustrate what I mean:

    @Amebr, thank you very much for the detailed instructions. I will try this.

    @Peter Grainge Since all development is focused on frameless skins, do you think it may be a problem to continue with an HTML5 skin? Would an HTML5 skin potentially become less stable in future releases? I'm wondering about the potential drawbacks of continuing with the HTML5 skin vs. the benefits of changing to a frameless skin. We've invested many hours in setting up and testing the HTML5 skin, and I'd hate to throw away that investment. However, once the skin is in place, it likely wouldn't be changed again for a long time.

    Not in HTML5 skins. All development is now focused on frameless skins.

    I was hoping you would say it was a frameless skin as they are so much more customisable. What you want is in the skin editor for frameless.

    For responsive skins the method is to generate an output and right click what you want to customise, then click Inspect or Developer Tools. Unfortunately I haven't been able to identify what to customise. The you create a CSS and add it to user assets.

    I'm hoping that @Amebr might be able to identify it.

    BTW. Update 2 is available and as you are on 2022.0 you can apply it from Check for Updates. That won't help here but if might help with other issues.

    Thank you,

    I probably won't be able to modify the lines in Inspect view efficiently. I spent some time reviewing the view this afternoon. Perhaps another option for the sizing will be available from the RH interface in the future.

    You haven't said which version of RoboHelp you are using. Please always start a thread with this information.

    • Please go to Help > About and include the full version number.
    • If you are using 2019 also state whether it is 2019 Classic or 2019 New UI.

    How it is done depends on that and which skin you are using.
