Internal Error when generating printed documentation

I am trying to generate printed documentation from a Web Help system using RH6 (I recently upgraded to try to solve other problems). When I try to generate the documentation I get an error saying Word can't save the file...Normal.dot is already open. Then I get 'Internal Error Encountered' in the compilation window.

I'm trying to generate a PDF document so I don't have to deal with the MS Word issues - any suggestions??

Peter - Thanks for setting me off in the right direction! It appears that the Normal.dot file was corrupted...I deleted the file, opened Word to create a new Normal.dot, closed Word and I was able to generate the documentation without a problem!!

Thanks again!

Normal.dot is here: C:\Documents and Settings\Bambi\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

All other features of RH work fine - and it has been stable for quite a while. The project is not on a network drive - although it was originally created in a prior version of RH. (It has been revised in RH6 - including documentation - in July '07)

Where is Normal.dot on your PC?

Presumably this is otherwise a stable installation of RH that has been working for some time and the project is not on a network drive.

Thanks for the quick reply, but RoboHelp is the ONLY program that gives me this error...I've checked the Normal.dot locations and conflicts suggested in the Google results...there are no conflicts.

Any other ideas?

Not one I have seen before but Googling "Normal.dot is already open" brought up a string of results.

Here's one.
