Irritating Tool Tip on image file location

My complied web help (RoboHelp Word) shows an irritating tool tip on the location and file name of the images when the mouse is placed over the images. How do I disable this?

Am I misinterpreting you but it sounds like you think you can edit the images in the source, the Word document. My point was that RH will ignore that.

Also bear in mind that if you edit the output, that will get trashed next time you generate.

Hi Peter,
I took your statement viz. " It looks like the only solution would be to go to the generated webhelp and edit the Alt text properties.
" to mean that I click on View Source when I view the generated webhelp in my browser, locate where the image is referenced and figure out a way to change the Alt text prperties. What exactly did you mean Peter?

You are right in that you have to edit the output. It was your statement "edit all the images from source" that made me wonder if you had some idea about editing the source rather than the output.

Thak you Peter for pointing out that we 'generate' not 'compile' web help. Thank you also for your solution. It seems a daunting task to edit all the images from source especially when there are a lot of images. It is however good to know that there is something one can do notwithstanding the donkey's work.

Hi jothi21 and welcome to our community

Personally, I try like heck to avoid mixing Word and RoboHelp, but it does appear here that you actually LIKE this combination.

If this were RoboHelp HTML. I'd tell you to double-click the offending image and look in the Screen tip field. I'm hopeful here that Word might offer the same thing if you double click your image there. If not, try right clicking the image and see what options you have. The goal is to see if RoboHelp will offer some option to insert the same thing in the RoboHelp for Word version.

Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick,
Thank for the prompt response. I too would like to avoid the Robo Word comination but well that is what I have to work with. So I am trying to get the best out of this union. I tried your right click suggestion Rick but there is no 'tool tip' related option. I guess there must be a way because displaying the path for the image file in a compiled help dosen't make sense.

This one is quite silly.

If you double click the picture or right click and select Format Picture, you will get a Format Picture dialog with a Web tab where you can add your own alternative text. Why is this silly? Because RH takes not a bit of notice of what you enter there when you generate (not compile) the webhelp! Instead it displays the path.

It looks like the only solution would be to go to the generated webhelp and edit the Alt text properties.
