Issues Integrating DeepL API with RoboHelp 2022

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble setting up the DeepL API in RoboHelp 2022 (Update 5). Despite entering the correct information, I keep getting an error message saying the credentials are not valid.

I've contacted DeepL support, and they confirmed that RoboHelp is not on their list of supported CAT tools. However, Adobe RoboHelp 2022 has provided the option to integrate DeepL since Update 1.

I'm at a loss and not sure what to try next. We've also attempted to enter the API key in the format (api_key=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) without success.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any suggestions on how to resolve it?

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi,

Can you try https://api.deepl.com/v1/translate as the endpoint?

@Jeff_Coatsworth is right that you will need to take this up with Support. I checked with one of my contacts and they confirmed that both the API key and the Endpoint are provided by the translation tool used. If they have confirmed that both are correct, then Support is your only option.

Also I think I am correct in saying RoboHelp would not be described as a CAT Tool. RoboHelp is not doing the translation.

That has been confirmed by Adobe. CAT tools do the translation whereas RoboHelp is making use of a CAT tool through its API. Seems perhaps Deepl misunderstood your query.

I suspect your fastest way through this one is to ping the RH folks direct - see https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.
