Japanese translated help does not display in RH UI

I'm working with a translator in Japan to translate English HTML help to Japanese. When I view the translated help in RoboHelp (authoring environment), the translation looks like boxes and not the translated help. However, when I compile the help and view it, the help is in Japanese. What type of settings do I need to modify to view the translated text in my authoring environment?

Using a copy of the translated project, make sure the font used is a unicode font. I think most PCs have Arial Unicode. Next check what font the translator used and did they work in RoboHelp?

Beyond that the other things that affect language are the project language and the topic language but I don't think they would have this effect.

I rarely work in anything with other than English but I did see something like this when first looking at RoboHelp 8. There are some foreign language sections in the Customer Care sample project. See how you get on with those.

Thanks for tip. Hereis' what I did: I modified the settings on the "Regional and Language Options" dialog on my machine by first selecting the "Language" tab and then selecting the "Install files for complex script and right-to-left langages (including Thai)" check box. Then I selected the "Advanced" tab and selected "Japanese" from the list of languages to match the language version of the non-Unicode program that I want to use. Modifying the settings now lets me view topics in Japanese.

Thanks again for the tip.
