I want to learn more about Robosource Control before using it. Are there any books I can buy?

Hi, Cindy
There are no books but, just in case you hadn't already found these articles:

Matthew Ellison has a fine article on getting started on the Adobe Developer Center
Getting started with RoboSource Control 3 in RoboHelp 6

I have an older article covering the previous version that discusses best practices and gives examples and a sample project to download and test it out. Some of the screen shots are not precisely the same as version 3, but they are remarkably "close enough" I think to help you.
Sharing One RoboHelp Project Among Multiple Authors

If you are like me, when I first used RoboSource Control I had no idea what the heck it was. I found the best way to learn was to set up a dummy project (as I suggest in my article) and pound on it locally.

1. Set up RSC v3 (including the server) on your local hard drive, as shown by the two articles)
2. Set up fictitous (or real users in a user library)
3. Add a project to Version Control
4. Open a Project on your local hard drive
5. Check projects/files in and out
6. Look at the History dialogs
7. Check file Diffs (differences) between files
8. Roll back to a previous version

In short, for novices to any kind of version control there is no getting around the learning curve. But, using the dummy project, it will give you confidence when you shift to a "real" situation.

Hope this helps.
