Microsoft HTML Help layout settings

Happy Friday!

I was looking at the Microsoft HTML Help layout dialog box today in RoboHelp 6 for HTML, and I realized that the <<Previous and Next>> buttons were inactive. When I look at the other layouts, they have the ability to change settings, is there something I need to change somewhere ? This was where we turned on browse sequences, but now I don't seem to be able to access that.

Thanks

Hi,

For Previous and Next buttons to work in compiled help, you must have a binary TOC. I suspect if those options are ghosted it is because you do not have a binary TOC.

Hi all

It could be too that MW is referring to the standard Back and Forward buttons. Those aren't dependent on a binary TOC and are just part of the main toolbar. To enable/disable them, you edit the window properties.

Additionally, I don't believe that RoboHelp of any version ever offered up the ability to choose the Previous/Next buttons. That was always a "behind the scenes tweak" one had to apply.

Cheers... Rick
