I am brand new to robohelp 9 and to this forum. I searched and none of the answers that I found helped with my problem. Please forgive me if this is elementary or has already been answered.

The need:

I would like to implement version control for robohelp. We are on tfs for all development and would like to utilize the tfs for robohelp source control.

Environment:

Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise

TFS 2010

Robohelp 9.0.0.228 64-bit

I cannot find anything about Robosource on my system although I've gathered that it should be built into rh9?

The problem:

With a project open, there is no version control item in the file menu (with all options expanded).

With a project open, there is a version control toolbar that has everything greyed out.

I cannot find anything about robosource (is that still included in rh9?).

I appreciate any assistance I'm given.

I was able to access the Version Control option from RoboHelp, but 2 members of my team were not. We all have 64bit systems and installed the 32bit version of Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider, so I'm not sure why I can see the Version Control option but they cannot. Any help?

Which version of Visual Studio are you using? You need to have the right MSSCCI provider version for VS.

I have found the solution.

Since I have the 64-bit Robohelp, I had installed the 64-bit MSSCCI since the installation page clearly states that "Note that a 64-bit version of the MSSCCI provider is available here for 64-bit applications requiring MSSCCI integration". I decided this morning to install the 32-bit version of MSSCCI after doing some research and figuring out that having both is acceptable.

I now have version control in my 64-bit app using the 32-bit MSSCCI.

You have a x64 version of RoboHelp? As far as I know, RoboHelp is always 32 bits, but is also supported on 64-bit machines.

Thank you so much for your quick reply.

I neglected to mention in the original note that I had installed this piece. I have verified that it is in the registry as expected. Still no menu item on robohelp for version control and the version contol menu bar is still greyed out.

I'm trying to use version control with RoboHelp 8 and TFS (our company's development environment)--right now we have all of our RoboHelp project folders and files in TFS and use Visual Studio to check them out (but we don't use any version control, so now the team is grappling with how to delete files and folders). I installed the extra MSSCCI component, but it doesn't appear in the Registry (nor do the Registry folders appear that I've seen in two differenct articles about this), but I do see the Version Control option on the File menu (after I check out the project in TFS).

I selected the Version Control option and MSSCCI, and RoboHelp seemed to act fine. How can I tell if everything is really okay and I'm really using true version control?
