Question

Not possible to link 'publish' items?

RH2022.0.346

All contents of the assets folder can be linked with other folder or files. For example the CSS files can be linked with a 'template project'. I however can't find how to link the files from the publish\templates folder.

For the templates I think the accepted way to "share" them is to do an Export to get an .skz file and then import the .skz file into the required project. But then you get a new skin and can't choose to overwrite the existing skin. (You might also be able to copy the folder across using File Explorer, but I couldn't say if that will work or cause problems, and it is obviously manual. ) And there's the "manually make individual changes in each project" method which is not ideal.

Exporting and importing works. Thank you Amebr. It is however not a .skz file but a .tplz file. I could open the file with 7-zip and see that it contains all files from the templates folder.

A 'link' feature for the templates folder would be better. If something changes in the 'template project', you would simply have to synchronize. I've entered a feature request for this: https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/RH-11423 (please vote)

Thanks for updating the file extension. They must have changed it in RH2022. 🙂

Sorry, what are you trying to do? I'm not following - are you talking about the output files or the RH project?

See the next image. I use a template project that contains everything to get documentation in the right company style. When I create a new project, I make a copy of that project to start with. Later on, if something changes to the styles, I adapt the template project and link the files that make the style project from the template to the other projects. That's a very nice feature.

Unfortunately, linking can only be done with the assets folder, while e.g. the templates folder also contains styling, i.e. for example for PDF output.

    I hope this is clear?

Hmm, ok. How are you creating the copy of the template for the new project? Inside RH or just using File Explorer?
