PDF Generated Bookmarks differ from TOC

Hi everyone,

I am working on a project on Robohelp and I am experiencing some issues while creating the pdf file.

I need to export my TOC as chapter list and I would like to see the PDF bookmarks reflect the TOC structer rather than the Heading in the topic files, but I am not able to do so.

As reference here my settings for pdf generation:

Here's my TOC:

Here's the generated bookmarks

How can I generate the bookmark in the same is structured my TOC?

Thanks,

Alberto

I believe RH2022 was released a few days ago. Have a look at the annouincement at the top of the RH board for information.

Hi Alberto,

This issue has been fixed as part of our revamped PDF generation in RH 2022. We just had our pre-release demo regarding this in which we show cased this and many new features. If you would like to see, we will be glad to share the recording.

Also, first beta build is shared on pre-release forum so you can give it a try and see how it works for you.

Note: For now you will need to create a new PDF preset in beta build.

Let me know if you would like to be added to pre-release forum for RH 2022.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi!

Has this revamped PDF generation been released yet? I'm seeing the problem in RH 2020.8.34 and have to fix the PDF bookmarks manually with Acrobat as a workaround.

Thanks!

From a simple test I just ran it appears that while bookmarks can be added to a TOC and work in an online output, they are not coming through in the PDF output. Is that what you are seeing?

It looks like a bug but I will check it is not a limitation of the PDF format.
