PDF template

After two hours I have found a solution that should work but RoboHelp is still throwing a wobbly.
First of all I established that RoboHelp was not going to play nicely with PDFs so I saved the PDF as an image. From there...

1. The PDF template must have a landscape page. Prime has one. You can add one to Basic. I named mine LandscapePG.
2. In the topic you go to Content Properties > Pagination > Page Layout and set that page.
3. When I generate the title of the page is landscape but the problem is it throws the image onto the next page as portrait.

I have taken this up with an Adobe contact and will let you know what comes back..

Having thought some more about this, I don’t think RoboHelp supports importing PDFs as content. I need to look back and check. If I’m right, the whole process needs to be rethought.

How are the PDF drawings created in the first place? 

Can you create a simple project showing just a few topics with a landscape PDF in it for me? See the Contact page on my site and send the project as instructed there. Do make sure you include a link to this thread and please do not email the project direct.

I also think you should raise an issue with Adobe Support on this. See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.

I will see what I can come up with tomorrow but don’t wait on that before going to Support.

You haven’t said which version of RoboHelp you are using. Please always start a thread with this information. Go to Help > About to get the full version number. I’m assuming it is 2022 or 2026.

You are importing PDFs into the general content files and then generating a PDF output, is that the process. Show me the steps you use to import the PDF.

When you generate the PDF, output some pages need to be landscape and the rest are portrait, correct?

I believe that can be done but offhand I can’t remember how. I should be able to look at that tomorrow but please answer the above first.
