Merci

Now that I have seen the project, I can see what has happened. Adobe have redesigned the Back functionality.

I thought the small arrow at the top was related to a browse sequence but it is a replacement for the Back tile. I suspect that is because for some users tile space was at a premium.

If you right click the top arrow and select Inspect, it shows it is controlled by this functionality.

Maybe one of your developers can dig into that and figure out where the image is called and change it. Alternatively you can try Support. See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.

Another option involves changing to a Frameless template where Adobe are focussing all development. They have many more customisation options although I haven't checked for this one. It would involve changing any context sensitive URLs if you go that route. Map IDs would not be affected.

Sorry after all this I haven't given you what you want but at least you know it is a design change rather than a bug.

OK.

  1. Create a new simple dummy project with just a few topics. They don't need any real content, just a few words.
  2. Set up a TOC with top level sections (books) and lower level sections to copy the structure in your real project.
  3. Export the skin from your real project to any location.
  4. Import that into the dummy project.
  5. Check you still see the problem.
  6. If you do, see the Contact Page on my site and follow the instructions there to send me the project.

That's not quite what I am saying.

  • When you first open the help, there will not be a back button for the simple reason there is nothing to go back to.
  • When you click a tile that takes you to a further tiled page because of your TOC construction, then you should see the back button.

Are you saying that is not what you are seeing?

I think you are confusing two functions.

  1. The one you are pointing to now is the back button for a browse sequence.
  2. The one in a tile as in your first image is to do with the TOC tiles. When you open the TOC you will not see that back button but if you click one of the tiles and if that goes to another tiled page because the book had sub-sections, then you will see the tile with the arrow pointing up. That is go take you back to the first page of tiles. Nothing to do with browse sequences.

I'm not lost as to which problem you are fighting.

You could try adding a new Indigo template. You don't have to delete the old one, just change the name a little.

In English, this screen I believe.

What I am seeing is when I generate the top level books show the image top and bottom right. If one of those tiles goes to a lower level book, then see what that contains with a back button.

What is it you are missing?

This seems to be the English version.

It is TOC related but I can't quickly see where it comes out when you generate. Please add a screenshot from an old output with the images showing.

Looking again at your images you are referring to some buttons and using an old sample project.

In your first image you have a tile labelled Retour. Normally the tiles represent books in the TOC and don't include a return button as standard. Is that what is missing?

Your last image shows Retour. I will have to open an old version of RoboHelp to see that project as Employee Care has not been included in the samples since RoboHelp 2017. May not be today.

That is what you have updated to. What @Jeff_Coatsworth meant was what version did you upgrade from. 2019 was available in the Classic UI and the New UI. Which one of those were you using before upgrading to 2022?

Have you selected the browse sequence in the preset?

Merci
